The stone walls and dome detail of a historic bathhouse

Hacı Ali Ağa Bathhouse

1884 · Ottoman

Castle & Bathhouse

Dated 1884, this bathhouse is one of the concrete proofs of Sille's prosperity in the 19th century. It was built in the years when the valley was growing rich on trade, carpet weaving and stonemasonry, and together with the Subaşı Bathhouse it forms one of the settlement's two Ottoman baths. Two bathhouses in a single settlement is a measure of the population and wealth of the time.

The photograph shows one of the historic bathhouse buildings in Sille.

Opening hours can change. Entry to the Aya Eleni Church is free; the days and hours it is open differ between sources (Mondays are usually closed). We recommend confirming with the Konya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism before you set out.
