Streets & Houses
Sille's domestic architecture can be read from its material: most buildings are made not of brick but of the Sille stone quarried from the valley. The houses are one or two storeys, roofed with packed earth. Grapevines cover their doorways and outer walls — not decoration, but a remnant of the valley's viticulture. After the population exchange some of the emptied mansions were restored and turned into cafés, guest houses and museums.
