The Sille bazaar: shops along the stream and poplar trees

The bazaar and the stone streets

Ottoman – today

Streets & Houses

The Sille bazaar consists of shops set beneath the houses on both banks of the stream — trade and dwelling are two floors of the same building. The lanes are narrow and winding, shaped by sloping ground and limited space, and paved in stone. Today the bazaar holds cafés, craft shops and places selling local produce: the buildings are the same, their functions have changed.

Opening hours can change. Entry to the Aya Eleni Church is free; the days and hours it is open differ between sources (Mondays are usually closed). We recommend confirming with the Konya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism before you set out.
